Canggu Indonesia

Canggu is a seaside village and 10 km beach located on the southern coast of Bali, Indonesia. It's situated roughly 10 kilometers north of Kuta, and offers a more laid-back environment for dining, cultural activities, and beach fun. The primary streets in Canggu are Jalan Batu Bolong, Jalan Padang Linjong, Jalan Batu Mejan, and Jalan Tanah Barak. Along Jalan Batu Bolong, you'll find the temple of the dead, Pura Merajapati, and the Pipitan Cemetery. Along the beach, there are two main temples, Pura Batu Bolong and Pura Batu Mejan, both of which are centuries old and were commissioned for construction by Dang Hyang Nirartha. The Canggu area used to be known for its picturesque views of rice fields and coconut groves, but recent rapid development is quickly replacing these traditional views with private villas. Canggu has become a favorite spot among surfers due to its longboard-friendly waves, one of the few such spots on the island. Three main tourist strips have emerged for both surfers and non-surfers. The area's reputation as a surfing destination has been boosted by the presence of Deus Ex Machina's Bali branch, the Deus Temple of Enthusiasm, and its annual competition that highlights classic single fin longboarding.
